1 Prepare the note first #

  • Delete duplicate lines and anything the recipient does not need.
  • Add a short title that says what the note is, not when it was made.
  • Keep the paragraphs you would keep in an email; one long block is hard to scan on a phone.
  • Check for personal data before you paste: names, order numbers, addresses, screen shots of chats.

If other people will edit or comment on the text instead of only reading it, compare paste links and shared documents.

2 Create, verify, and send #

  1. Paste the text and choose an expiration if the link is temporary.
  2. Create the share URL — no account is required.
  3. Open the result and read it once on a narrow window to check the wrapping.
  4. Send the complete URL with one sentence of context.

Note

Anyone who has the unlisted URL can read it. Send it only to the people who need it, and prefer a short expiration for anything temporary.
